Jehovah is the True God!
Genesis chapter 9 verse 16:- 16 But for this very reason I have kept you in existence: to show you my power and to have my name declared in all the earth.
Jehovah left Pharaoh the King of Egypt in no doubt as to his purpose to make known his personal name "in all the earth", and we today who worship the true God are obligated to make this name known!
Should we use God's personal name when praying? What do you think? The original Hebrew scrolls of the bible contained the personal name of God (Jehovah) represented by 4 Hebrew characters over 7000 times, so there is no doubt that Jehovah wanted people to know and use that name when calling to or talking about him! His son Jesus confirmed this when he said:
John chapter 17 verse 26:- 26 I have made your name known to them and will make it known.
Who is the Lord?
"Lord" as used in modern Bibles can refer to an important man, a prince or king, a city ruler, or even Satan the Devil who is referred to in the Christian Greek scriptures as "Beel-zebub" which translates as "Lord or Master", and it is because of this general usage of the title "Lord" used for both Jehovah and Jesus Christ that Translators of the Bible helped to cultivate the lie that Jesus is actually God!
So this explains why most people who call themselves Christians do not use it even in prayer, but instead use the title Lord or God not realising or caring that because they do not pray to Jehovah by using his personal name acknowledging him as the only true God their prayers are ignored and not heard by him, it is as if they were whistling into the wind:
Isaiah chapter 1 verse 15 (in part):- 15 And when YOU spread out YOUR palms, I hide my eyes from YOU. Even though YOU make many prayers, I am not listening;
Reasoning is Needed!
If you were in a large room with many other people and a friend spotted you on the other side of the crowd, and he then shouted "Hey you" or "Mister/Miss" to get your attention, would you know to answer him, or would you feel insulted that your friend did not use your name?
To deny the God of the Bible a personal name by removing it from the Bible even when that name is used thousands of times in the original scrolls and early copies of the scriptures, is from God's point of view a direct attack on his sovereignty and a personal insult. Jehovah wants his people to use that name when reading or talking about him, but to do so with great respect!
Isaiah chapter 42 verse 8:- 8 I am Jehovah. That is my name; I give my glory to no one else, Nor my praise to graven images.
In Conclusion:
The Holy Bible teaches that Jehovah is the true God who's name translates into English as "He who causes to become", or in simple terms "The Creator". Jesus Christ is his Son and he himself tells us that his father is greater than he is. He also prayed to his father many times when on Earth, and NEVER tried to make himself God's equal, but always made proclaiming God's name the most important part of his teachings:
Philippians chapter 2 verses 5 and 6:- 5 Keep this mental attitude in you that was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although he was existing in God’s form (as a spirit), did not even consider the idea of trying to be equal to God.
Right through this article you will note that the true God is always referred to in the Singular, and never in the Plural, this is also true of the Holy Bible: - "Jehovah" - "He who causes to become" - And Never - "we who cause to become!" His very name provides proof that Jehovah is one God and not three Gods (a trinity).
Jehovah is the Creator! And the True and Only God!
